#012. CAR-T Therapy in Real Practice

Cardinal Health™에서 발행한 Physician Survey

83명의 Oncology Healthcare Professional에게 CAR-T 치료에 대한 설문 조사.

63명은 의사 + 나머지는 non-physician healthcare professionals.

 

대체적으로 Cell & Gene Therapy에는 호의적인듯;

다만, 1차 병원에서 3차 병원까지 환자를 넘기는 시스템이 부재한 경우가 많은듯.

Prescribed / Referred 환자들이 전부 다 CAR-T 치료를 못 받고 있음.

 

이게 2023년 6월 데이터인것 같은데, 아직도 나오는 Challenge로

• Cost of Therapy
• Logistics of traveling to CAR-T cell therapy center

 

Treatment Cost of CAR-T: $373,000-$475,000 per patient dose (excluding additional procedures, facility costs, monitoring costs, etc)

 

CAR-T 투여는 "certified tertiary medical center"에서 진행되어야 되다보니, travel 이슈

치료 이후에도 post-therapy visit도 어려움이 존재.

 

Clinical Trial Referral도 아직까지는 낮다고 함.

64%는 TCR Therapy 관련 임상시험으로 referral 한적이 없다함.

이유는 그냥 lack of information.

 

첫 CAR-T 허가는 2017년.

7년 뒤에도 아직까지는 CAR-T에 대한 장애물이 더 많은듯.

 

Allogeneic Approach가 Oncology & Autoimmune까지 잡는걸로 +a가 될 수 있지 않을까 싶네.
